Liz's Story of Neil Adoption

Hello

we are here and it is fabulous. Please excuse any typos or misspellings - they charge email per minute, so I'm not proof reading. Our hotel is wonderful and everyone has been so kind and helpful (except the flight attendants on Aeroflot, but that's another story. They are not there to make you comfortable, they are there to make you behave!)

So much for my idea of weight loss in Russia, at least in Moscow. The food is great. Cheese, butter, sour cream, pastries, fresh bread and eggs and fried potatoes. Mmmm...the breakfast buffet is HUGE and comes with the price of the room. Moscow is beautiful. They are having a heat wave - it's 37 degrees and sunny. Perfect for walking around. Moscow looks like Amsterdam, if A'dam could be stretched out like Silly Putty until it was 10x it's size. The city women are gorgeous. Very fancy and glamorous. It's not chic like Italy or Paris, more 50's movie star fancy. Lots of fur coats, muffs, hats, high heels, makeup, jewels, nails; very done. I feel like such a slob in my pea coat and walking boots! Oh - our beds have down duvets and feather mattress pads. I'm feeling very spoiled!

We leave today to meet baby Neil. We’ll fly for about 8 hours, then check in with the MoE office, then depending on time, maybe to the baby hospital. If not then, it will be early next morning. He is doing better. We brought some special antibiotics for him and we've heard he is improving, although seriously thin. We have huge amounts of food for him, so I'm sure he'll be fine as soon as we start loving on him and feeding him every 2 hours. We will probably spend our first night in a hotel, but will then move to a home. I probably won't be able to email from there, but I'll try to find an internet cafe not too far away so I can update everyone.

I spoke with Mom & Dad this morning - Bella's fine. She's being spoiled and having a blast. Since we left she's gone to OMSI, swimming, bike riding and been working in the garden. I hear she's going to a basketball game this weekend with Keely's family - THANK YOU< KEELS!

We are having a romantic vacation.Although this is wonderful, we are anxious to get to Neil. We love him so and want him home. If I had one wish right now it would be to have both my babies in the same place. Love to you all. Please pas on this note/info to whomever might be interested...Diane, Love, love, love you!
