Chapter 2 : The Face That Launched The Search

When Tatianna first inquired about her family, I was a little hurt.  I suppose, jealous of this mother who I did not know. However, I felt Tati's birth mother deserved to know her child was alive and doing well. I decided to put Tati's interests first.

Over the years I had searched the internet looking for pictures of her hometown, Minusinsk.  One day, I came across the picture of a girl.  She looked so similar To Tatianna. I contacted the photographer to see if he had more information.  Unfortunately, he did not. I was convinced that this girl surely must be a relative.   Now, I the one who was really CURIOUS!!  I was thinking about contacting a private investigator, but decided against it as I did not want any harm to come to this family.

Surfing the net, I came across an ancestry site which could gather information for people with Russian last names.  By now, the information I had on Tatianna was 8 years old.  I had tried to send letters from America, but I never received an answer.  I contacted this family tree site and in a few short months they had some news on Tati’s family.  It seems they had moved from Minusinsk to a small village in the county called Zherlyk.

For me to fly over and try to search myself would have cost thousands of dollars and I did not speak the language.  I went back to the photographer.  After all, Tatianna desired a picture!

The photographer agreed to take this job and fly into Siberia and look for this family.  On the second day he had located Tatianna’s family and sent me this e-mail Alex_letter.
