Chapter 1 : The Adoption

  
 

 

Tatianna was adopted at the age of 18 months from Minusinsk, Russia. We used Commonwealth International Adoptions and traveled in March of 1995. It was a great trip as the Russians are known for their friendliness and hospitality. Our coordinators, Sasha and Lena, are our friends today and have been our guests in the U.S.  Marina, Commonwealth’s President, still keeps in touch regularly and visits.  We were one of her first clients.  Tatianna has appeared in two Russian TV film documentaries to promote international adoptions with the Russian public.    When Tatianna was in the second grade she began to inquire about her Russian family.  She would tell us she just wanted a picture so she could see who she looked like.
